It's a day of
shopping today here in Bangkok, in one word: MBK, the temple of shopping! Seven
floors of heaven, or hell if you are not a lover of this sort of stuff. At
higher levels you can find restaurants, for all tastes, nationalities and
pockets. Going down you have the home furnishings section, clothing,
electronics (taking up a whole floor itself), shoe shops and a lot of
knick-knacks. It's like being in the Land of Toys where it's so easy to get in,
but so hard to find a way out, in the true sense of the word.

most of the day in a superficial but great fun way, then by a Skytrain, a clean
and safe means of transport, we head to Sukumvit area where another multitude
of stands, open-pit restaurants, and quite shifty massage centres...
It's hard for
us to find Taxi drivers able to read occidental writing, practically impossible
is to find someone who speaks English! Only the last night, arrived at the
hotel we figure out they provide clients with some handy business cards with
precise information and even a small map, in Thai and in English. Fortunately
we haven't been swindled and some honest taxi driver still exists.

the next post!
